Where acoustic trees grow electric leaves.
Formed in the mist-shrouded hollows of Asheville, NC, **Pixelated Dawn** is an audio project that seamlessly fuses rustic, folk songwriting with modern, analog modular synthesis. Combining acoustic strings and organic vocals with rich, dynamic synth patches, the band crafts a dense, cinematic foliage of sound they call “synth-folk.”
The duo consists of songwriter/vocalist **Evelyn Vance** and producer/synthesist **Liam Thorne**. Their live performances are highly collaborative, reactive experiences where synthesizers respond in real-time to vocal inflections, creating an evolving soundscape that has captivated indie and festival audiences alike. Their music is both a quiet study of isolation and a soaring celebration of natural environments.
Following the success of their debut singles, Pixelated Dawn recorded their new EP, *Neon Canopy*, entirely inside an off-grid glass studio powered by solar energy, deeply immersing themselves in the surrounding mountain wilderness. The result is a set of tracks that feel both deeply ancient and futuristically synthetic.
